The term staging comes from the theatre world and describes the processes involved in setting up and organising the performance space. From the outside looking in, you may think that staging comprises simply a platform, microphone, some lighting and audio-visual systems. In reality, the behind-the-scenes work required to put on an event means that staging is a whole lot bigger and more involved than what a participant or consumer sees as the end result.
